As a result, the TT fared poorly compared to its competitors in terms of performance. While the Boxster and Z3 of competitors Porsche and BMW had rear-wheel drive (RWD), the first few TTs were front-wheel drive (FWD) (FWD). The first-generation Audi TT (2000-2006) was an underdog in the German two-seater sports car market despite favorable reviews. Owners of the 2000 Audi TT have reported 89 faults and complaints to Car Complaints, the majority (30) of which are linked to electrical issues. Additionally, at least one additional recall might cause engine failure. There were 13 recalls on Audi TTs from 2000 to 2006, including one for an aftermarket water pump replacement problem that might cause the timing belt to break, causing the motor to cease working. Rating: Excellent - our hands-down winner for non-scanned PDFs. This can be a benefit if you’d like to keep that context or a drawback if you just want data for additional analysis. The Excel conversions include any text on pages that have both text and tables. (You can output Microsoft Word files with this tool as well). A full-featured conversion subscription is somewhat pricey, but there’s also an inexpensive $2/month plan (annual subscription required) that includes an unlimited number of PDF to Excel conversions. All these tools did pretty well on at least some of our tasks, so rankings range from “Excellent” to “Good.” Adobe Acrobat Export PDF subscriptionĪs the creator of the Portable Document Format standard, you’d expect Adobe to do well in parsing PDFs - and it does. To help you find what’s best for your tasks, we tested seven PDF to Excel conversion tools using four different PDF files ranging from simple to nightmare. In addition, as with any software choice, you need to decide how much you value performance versus cost and ease of use. Do I have a large volume of files that need batch file conversions or automation? Our best-performing tool on app-generated PDFs may not be the best choice for you if you want to automate frequent batch conversions. Things get more complicated if tables are spread over multiple pages, table cells are merged, or some data within a table cell wraps over multiple lines.ģ. How complex is the data structure? Almost every tool will work well on a simple one-page table. Not all PDF conversion tools work on scanned PDFs. If a click and drag works to highlight text, your PDF is app-generated. You can tell which one you have by trying to highlight some text in the document. One is generated by an application like Microsoft Word the other comes from a scanned or other image file. Was my PDF generated by an application or is it a scanned image? There are two types of PDF files. There are several important considerations when selecting a PDF converter.ġ. 3 questions to ask when choosing a PDF to Excel converter Which is the “best” PDF to Excel converter? As with the “best computer,” the answer depends on your specific circumstances. There’s software from major vendors like Microsoft and Adobe, task-specific cloud services including PDFTables and Cometdocs, services from general-purpose cloud providers such as Amazon, and even free open-source options. How to extract that data from PDFs into an Excel spreadsheet? You have a number of PDF to Excel converters to choose from. In the world we live in, though, a lot of valuable data is locked inside Portable Document Format (PDF) documents. In an ideal world, the data we need to analyze would be available in ready-to-use format. The Police were probably the first UK new wave band to ascend to stadium status in America, and U2 had some of their textured grandeur but none of their bite. They brought none of the arch distance of their new wave peers. U2 weren’t British, though they probably rode some of the waves from the Second British Invasion. All three were hits in the UK, and all three made a dent in America, thanks in part to U2’s willingness to tour relentlessly. U2 cranked out their first three albums, all produced by Lillywhite, in quick succession. Finally, they signed with Island and linked up with Steve Lillywhite, a young producer who’d worked with Siouxsie And The Banshees, the Psychedelic Furs, and Peter Gabriel. In Dublin, U2 were playing to thousands by the end of the ’70s. Early attempts at landing record deals went nowhere, but U2 were always a live draw. They got a boost in confidence after winning a talent contest in Limerick, and they recorded their first demo in 1978. They changed their name to the Hype and then to U2. (When Bono was born, the #1 song in America was Elvis Presley’s “ Stuck On You.”) U2 started out under the name Feedback, playing punk covers at high-school functions. Paul Hewson, the young man who would become Bono, met his U2 bandmates at the progressive Dublin high school Mount Temple in 1976, when all of them were teenagers. They took over.Įarly on, U2 were not a pop-chart act. U2’s gradual upward climb became a vertiginous spike. With The Joshua Tree, the flowers bloomed. Less than a year after Top Gun made Cruise the biggest star in Hollywood, Bono pulled off something similar with The Joshua Tree and its lead single “With Or Without You.” U2 and their management had meticulously planted the seeds over the first four U2 albums. He also looked to his elders - the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison - for approval, in ways that would’ve made other punk-adjacent arena wailers blanch. Bono would clearly be in heaven anytime anyone put him in front of a vast crowd of people. He was working with the same basic toolbox as the Psychedelic Furs or Echo And The Bunnymen, but he had bigger things in mind. With U2, Bono emerged from the mass of post-punk brooders of the early ’80s. Tom Cruise ond Bono have followed the exact same arc, over the exact same timeline. You probably see where I’m going with this. Instead, he clearly sees himself as a messianic figure - an example for the universe to follow. He’s never more cringey than when he attempts self-deprecation. But as Cruise maintained his stardom into the 21st century, he also came to seem creepy and vaguely alien - never more so than when he tried to come off as a regular guy. Cruise aimed for that sort of prestige, and he got a lot of it - enough, in any case, to avoid the fate of most of his Brat Pack peers. Cruise pushed himself to forge alliances and collaborations with big-deal cinematic figures of older generations: Martin Scorsese, Paul Newman, Dustin Hoffman, Oliver Stone. He also had an appetite for history, for importance. In movies like Legend and Top Gun, Cruise had a taste for spectacle. Cruise, young and good-looking and charismatic, was part of a cohort of other young and good-looking and charismatic actors, but he separated himself from his castmates in The Outsiders as quickly as he possibly could. When Cruise was rising to the top of the pop-culture world in the mid-to-late ’80s, he managed his ascent carefully. Cruise, eternal avatar of steely confidence and absolute refusal to age, is a weird motherfucker, and the weirdest thing about him might be his determination to be normal - or, at least, to be loved and accepted by as many normal people as possible. Ultimately, there is a charm exuding from the art of the game that only small, committed indie teams can nail. While there are not many different models for students and teachers, additional cards like equipment, teacher training and random aberrations due to their magic studies help giving them a more unique look. The rooms are detailed and can be customised with a variety of bonus granting items making them look nicer still. The different maps are well characterised, the models for the characters are well done and so are animations. Revising in the library or thinking about bae? Graphics and Audio – Charm and other spells Overall the management aspect of the game feels very light and sometimes superficial, giving the game an “aquarium simulator” feel: pretty to look at but with little strategic complexity. However, more often than not, when receiving 7-8 applications at once I just ended up assigning my students randomly and was able to finish and win the campaign on the first try. The idea is to combo the student abilities with the houses and teachers specific perks to reinforce them further. When receiving applicants you can see a student ‘DnDesque’ disposition, their flaws and their strengths. Despite this, after a couple of maps I started picking the teacher with best pedagogy and did not notice a significant change in how the game played out. These will be permanently assigned to that room and you will only be able to improve them through rare cards you can pick up from the respective magic deck. When you first build a room you get to pick between two teachers with their pros and cons. Unfortunately, at least on the standard difficulty settings, most of the management side of the game feels inconsequential. The headmaster office contains university wide options Ultimately the focus is not on tower building, but I still feel it could have worked even better. This limit alongside the randomness of the card draw could prove too frustrating if tougher building restrictions were also applied. This is possibly due to the fact that rooms can’t be moved or removed once placed down. Only a couple of times I drew a card I was no able to place straightaway. Building on a beach or inside a volcano is basically the same. The different maps add sufficient variety in setting though not in gameplay. If you draw a card you already have built you get the choice of building a brand new room, or upgrading the existing one with a boost in performance or other bonuses. For instance you cannot build anything directly above the greenhouse, given the glass ceiling. You can place rooms in any buildable area provided the door layout is consistent with the existing building. The rewards are great but not my favorite out of the others - the Hermit crab improves teachers and the plane telescope increases lengths of study, which can help if you like to do the dungeons or go for archemages.A refectory upgraded twice, with the Healthy perk selectedĮach card you draw can either be a room, or a bonus in the form of room decorations, student equipment or teacher training. The rewards are more niche, though - focusing on Heroism and Beast Magic. The armed chest helps with Enchantment which is good for dungeons, but the spider is best here.Ī difficult challenge with good rewards. The easiest challenge, and has two great reward cards - the astral clock which helps with student's needs, and the harp, which prevents aberrations.Įasier challenge with an excellent reward - the Criticality prism which gives knowledge bonuses to students, and the Cornucopia is decent as well.Ī mid-level challenge that has one of my favorite rewards - the shadow-weaving spider that generates the resource you need most. Based on difficulty I suggest to go in this order, in terms of difficulty and rewards: You may think that a list in your head will suffice, but I assure you, it won’t. Make the time to make a list…a written out list Not making adjustments for a busy day is setting your list up for failure…and who likes to fail? Be smart in making your list by checking your calendar first. If your day is filled with appointments and other commitments, your to-do list will need to be very limited for that day. When making your list, take your calendar into account first. If you’ve never had much luck with lists before, a list that was too long could be to blame. Creating a short to-do list that is effective and filled with things that are only a top priority for the day will be your friend. If your to-do list is too long, you won’t even want to get started since you know that completing it will never be possible. Be selective in creating your listĬreating a list that includes everything but the kitchen sink will overwhelm you before you even start. Your list will be the vehicle you use to accomplish your bite-sized goals. Reviewing your bite-sized goals will help you fill your list. If you are unsure of what I am talking about, read So, You’ve Set Some Goals, Now What? Keeping in mind that your goals are already filtered through your mission statement assures you that anything that is a goal is something that you deem worth your time to focus on. Before making your list, review the bite-sized goals that you created For this reason, I am suggesting that you keep your need to be perfect far, far away. However, when making a list, being a perfectionist will only tend to make your list overwhelming. I am a recovering perfectionist, and at times these tendencies still can get out of hand. In case you’re wondering, I just wrote that for me even more than I did for you. When it comes to making lists, keep your perfectionistic tendencies in check For instance, if you want to carry it in your purse, size will matter in most cases if you go the paper and pen route. Then, decide where you want to keep your list. Where will you write your list? Where will you keep your list? Are you a paper and pen person or do you prefer an app on your phone or a program on your computer? Give some thought to how keeping a list will work best for you.
